CONGRESS GETS INVOLVED!!!
Today, in El Paso Texas, several members of congress, both Democrats and republicans, who are border security advocates, attended a field meeting to discuss their outrage over the convictions of the 2 U.S. Border Agents
(Jose Compean & Ignascio Ramos).
They are asking whose side is the U.S. justice department really on?......
The U.S. Border Patrol, or the Mexican drug smugglers!
They are promising a Congressional probe into the prosecution of these 2 border agents before the end of the year!
The lawmakers are questioning whether the U.S. justice Department and the White House may have been pandering to the Mexican Government ( Pres.Vincente Fox) in the conviction of these two agents!
The El Paso County Sheriff, who has been a long time advocate of strengthening our borders, and who has been right in the middle of the drug smuggling war with the Mexican drug Cartels, questions whether or not these cartels and their millions may have influenced the outcome of the trial.
Meanwhile, money is pouring into the defense fund for the 2 border patrol agents as U.S. citizens have become more and more outraged over this entire situation.
Their sentencing is still scheduled for August 22nd, 2006 at which time they could receive up to 20 years in prison.
If you wish to contribute to their defense fund OR if you wish to voice your opinion about this miscarriage of justice...you will still find all of the infomation to do so in my 2 previos posts!!!
