MINUTEMEN MAKE MORE WAVES!!!!
Report>>
Orange county California!!
Minutemen co-founder Jim Gilchrist ran as an independent in the special elections in California's 48th district! Which is and has been a strong "RED" county (republican).
In the October primaries Mr. Gilchrist (I) recieved 15% of the vote, which doesn't seem like much but it did stop the incumbant john Campbell (republican) from getting a majority, which therefore forced a run-off election!!!
Mr. Gilchrist has made border security a centerpiece of his campaign, and has helped bring the issue, of stronger border control, to national attention in the last couple of years.
He believes VERY strongly that a secure border will not only keep illegal aliens out of our country but will also help stem the tide of terrorists entering, and he also advocates using our military more to help protect and guard our borders.
I might add that the Union for Border Patrol Agents has endorsed Mr. Gilchrist!!!
Mr. Campbell (R), who recieved 45% of the votes in the Oct. primaries, also says he believes in strong border control, but doesn't want military troops on the borders and says fences and such should do the job.
I guess he doesn't know that we ALREADY have fences and they are NOT working!!!!
There is also a Democrat in the race. Mr. Steve Young (D), a trial lawyer, who says he believes illegals should be able to "buy" their way into the US.
Now forgive me, but I thought thats what they are already doing (buying their way in). I guess this dimwit wants us to get the money instead of the mexican coyotes!!!
------------------------------------------
Yesterday, December 7th, we had the run-off, and the republican John Campbell did win by receiving 44.7% of the vote.
One more thing to add>>
The US Congress is now proposing a new "Broken Border Bill" that will do several things.
1. It would force employers to check a national govt. data base to make sure potential employees are eligable to work in the US.
2. It would make it easier to deport illegals once they have entered the US.
3. It would give the military a greater role in protecting the US borders.
This new bill does not mention Mr. Bush's "guest worker program" which one senator says is because "this is not the time to talk about that"!!!
---------------------------------------------
I think we're getting there..... slowly but surely!!!!!

The Democrat, Steve young received 28% of the vote.
And our champion, Independent Jim Gilchrist took 25.1% of the vote.
Although this was not enough to win him the election, it has no doubt ruffled a few feathers, especially the republicans,..... who in 2000 took 62% of the vote..... and in 2002 took 68% of the vote.
